Default Electronic Components turn on randomly

My Volvo's AC will turn on, on its own even after i've turned it off or even when the blower is turned down all the way and no its not on defrost. In addition to this problem the radio changes station or to the cd player on its own. Some kinds of wires are getting crossed, but which ones?

It might be a software issue as well.

The onboard computer handles the radio and the AC? If it is the software is that something the dealer has the ability to fix with a new update? They also recently did a software upgrade for a recall, could that update have screwed something up? It's becoming a safety issue as I have to reach over to shut off the AC every five seconds till it quits it.

Not sure if the update has anything to do with it. But the main CEM kind of ties all the modules together. SO yes and update on software might fix it.

Beginning in a different discussion, I've recently come to discover that my 2001 s60 will randomly power down when turning the ignition (as if someone has yanked the chord from the outlet). The repair shop is telling me this is due to the failed alarm siren causing an electrical miscue (or something). The alarm system has been out for a number of months and the car has been displaying the message in the dash since it stopped functioning. But only until a few days ago did the car start to have this electrical malfunction when attempting to start.
The shop wants over 400 dollars (!!!) to replace the alarm siren which they claim will fix the electrical problem. I don't know if that's true or if there is a simple way to side step the issue and save the money!

The AC system is designed to run the blower motor a set period after the car is shut off to remove condensation from the ductwork, even if you turn it off while driving. If this is what is happening, that is normal.

Not sure about the stereo self-actuating, though. Sounds like a problem in the unit itself, since the steering wheel buttons control only volume and track (or preset) and can't change between CD and radio.
