Rear Heat
Hi all,
As winter is fast approaching, I have begun to look into the defrost system on my 1997 volvo 850 Wagon. Behind the rear seats there seems to be a vent on each side pointing towards the rear window (The reat-most window). I assume they are there to defrost, becuase when they those rear windows fog up, it is impossible to check your blindspot. I have turned the heat up to full and nothing comes out of these vents. I have rotated through all airflow configurations. Still nothing.
Are these actually vents? If not what is their purpose? And if they are, how do I get them to work. Finally, any ideas on how to keep those large rear windows defrosted?
Thanks in advnace for all your help.
Nate.

They are air vents but are not connected to the heater system.
VADIS actually shows how to fit them to cars without them. They are there to "reduce condensation on the side windows." Volvo's words.
