My rear washer pump hoses are caped off so can some one tell me which connection on the pump is the inlet? I am fairly sure it is the one on the bottom and the out let is to the side.

 

Huh? Inlet? The pump plugs into the bottle, there is a vent line, the other 2 are outlets.

 

The pump for the rear window washer does not plug into the bottle but has two hoses connected to it. One is the inlet side and one goes to the rear window sprayer. This is the pump that is mounted under the front of the car.

 

The bottom connector is the inlet, side is outlet. Check the pump if it runs, Volvo chose a poor place for it there and it gets a lot of moisture and dirt ...
