Default Recycle Air on 94 850

The Recycle Air Control button on the Climate Control Panel lights up when flipped to the "ON" position, but doesn't seem to work. The outside air keeps blowing in. Any suggestions? Thanks....

Close the vent. **** to the far left of the Dash vents. I think it's up to close it and down to open it. The 98 V70 is the opposite and I kind of forget which one is which. I beliveve the button you are referring to is for A/C only.

Remove the glove box insert by opening the glove box door. Then removing the t-25 screws around the insert. Then using a small screwdriver insert it into the door where the rod goes into the door to release the rod.Once you remove the insert then look inside. There will be a motor with a rod going to it.Or not going to it the plastic dogbone looking peice of plastic breaks. That it what controls the recirc door.It might have just fallen off to.If it does grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers and hold it up there and activate the motor holding pressure. When the motor and the plastic peice match up it will slide on.

TECH, you're a genius! The bone-like piece was broken, where it attaches to the motor. The motor work perfectly. I'm going to get the part from Volvo today. Thanks for the info.

Replaced the plastic bone-like piece going from the motor to the rod this past weekend. The recycle air works perfectly. Thanks again TECH.

Thanks to you Tech, you are THE MAN.

My son has asthma, and while driving around in the Volvo on Atlanta traffic I would swear I smelled outside fumes, and air would come in thru the middle vents so we always had them closed.. I have an old Saab, and air comes thru the middle vents always, so I thought this was normal for the Volvo so we just put the air flow on 'feet' all the time. Well I read this post, and went out after work to check it out..I'll be damned if the wishbone plastic on ours was broken too! I took it off and will locate a replacement soon. All this time we have been driving around with traffic fumes coming into our car. I took a tie wrap and tied it so that it's shut until I fix it.
Thanks again, I appreciate that you are here!
Lars
