Default Removing head to find bent valves

I started an earlier post to determine why after replacing a new timing belt the car would not start. I've decided that I have little to loose by dismantling the head. It's know a pass time so time is not a factor. Is it advisable to replace all the valves, or those that (may be damaged) Lifters look good. How do the cams go back. A photo would be helpful. Again, Thanks for you previous help.

Why are you replacing the valves ? Have you ran a compression test on the vehicle ? Have you decided whether or not you have the timing belt/camshaft set correctly ? We do not mean to pester you but in your other post , I am not sure if it was indicated you had this set correctly . I sent you a PM with my phone # offering my help , did you get it ?

Default Many thanks

Your help and persistence ( not pestering) is very much appreciated including your kind offer to talk with on phone. The holidays and a family health issue kept me from following up. I came to the unhappy conclusion that the car had to many other problems, ie burning oil, leaking oil and worsening A/T problems. With nearly 300k miles, I can't complain. I'll either sell it for parts, but more likely donate it the American Cancer Society. Again, you've been a great help and I appreciate it. Will

PS: I want to give FCPEuro a shout out. There service is excellent. If your in the CT / NY area, you can pick up parts and save on shipping. I'll continue to buy BMW parts from them and maybe Volvo parts someday.

I'm sure they will be glad to get an old busted Volvo that doesn't start. Why not sell it on CL or scrap it and donate the cash to them?

For whatever it's worth, charities that accept car donations rarely even see the car. A tow truck picks it up, takes it to an auction yard, it gets sold, and the money (minus a selling fee) goes to the charity.
