???'s about a turbo leaking oil internally
so my car went for a tune up the other day and the guy said that my turbo is leaking internally. he said there is oil in my (intake air)pressure lines from the turbo, which was burning in the cylinder causing fouling. got a o2 sensor code. the car only has 136k miles on it. does this sound like it could be something else?
the car does smoke a little here and there but i thought it could be from pcv system. that is being cleaned/replaced soon. as well as the 140k service.
so my question is, does anyone know of a place that will rebuild my turbo in central/northern cali? the place my car is going to be worked on at will not rebuild it. but they will replace it if i get it done.
also does 650 sound okay for a reman turbo?
thanks for all your help,
joaquin

seems like the 16t is a lil more readily available and easier to find.
is it a direct bolt on for my car? i really dont want to modify anything.
do i have to remap turbo if i get a 16t?
i hope to have one ordered this weekend and my car getting the new turbine installed this coming week.
thanks for your help everyone.
oh... the car is a 96 850 turbo. wagon.

should be a direct bolt on for you. I dont know what you mean about "remapping the turbo" but i assume that you mean "remapping the ECU" and the answer to your question is no, you will not have to remap anything.
When I swapped my shot 15G for the 16T i felt a BIG difference in pickup, but I also installed an OBX exhaust while I had it apart. Im sure the difference would not have been as noticeable had i used the stock exhaust and had my turbo not been shot.

Yeah stay away from that... Its not a real Mitsubishi TD04HL.. Its a knock off..
You can also buy a Genuine Mitsubishi 16T Replacement Cartridge for about the same price usually... Which will fit in your 15G housing..
I owe that info to Ibified...
Im actually looking into this option when mine goes..
BTW there is a 19T for sale here --->TD04HL-19T Turbo and Other Goodies "Price Reduction" (Item ID: 100941, End Time : N/A) - Performance And Repair Parts For Sale
