Can a 98 S70 radio fit into a 97 850 sedan? Buddy found one with a CD player and i was wondering if they can be interchanged? I know I have to get the CODE for it but before I do, i want to make sure it will fit.

 

They should both be standard double-DIN headunits so you should be OK. Wire harnesses should be the same, too. If you can get your hands on it before you pay for it, it takes a whole 12-seconds to pull the old one and slap in the new one so you can verify.

 

And get the vin off of the vehicle you take it out of. It makes getting the code MUCH easier.

 

it will probably work, just stick out like a sore thumb. Most S70s trim is gray and not black like the 850s.

 

Gilber: yep. Mine does. That being said, this radio has a CD player, which the one from my 850 did not. Until I can afford to put a nice alpine touch screen dvd player in, it'll do.
