A sad day :(
Had a collision today, I was looking in my side mirror to change lanes and the cars ahead of me stopped in a hurry. The poor ABS didn't quite have enough time to react.
I hit the guy in front of me, and pushed him into the car in front of him. All cars driveable and no injuries luckily.
Have damaged the bumper, hood, grill the support bracket along the front top and bottom, bent both the condenser and radiator and scratched both side guards.
Crash repairer estimates approx $6000 to fix, so just waiting on my insurance company to decide what it is going to do.

the same thing happened to me brother. l was hit by a drunk driver. same spot as yours. the bumper was bent like that.even worst. l fix it myself. just got new parts. l got used intercooler, new radiator, used ac condesor, and got another bumper and got it painted. the cost was about $700 in all.l got alot left for suspension upgrade.$6000 is alot. sorry man
At least I am only $400 out of pocket, which is my excess payable to my insurer. They then either repair it, or pay it out which is listed on my policy for $9000. It depends on availability of parts, I have a brand new part guarantee if the car is less than 20 years old. This means they can only use brand new parts on the car for mechanical components, but can fit used panels.

So sorry to hear. I think that is totally fixable. Let them total the car, cash you out, buy it back and head to the JY.
This was my hit. Cost about $600 to fix.

Not great but its the only one I could find.

Brick- $6000 bucks sounds like a lot. Here's my deer hit last month- JY hood, lights, fender, door etc and a new radiator, snapped the tops off both dipsticks! I'm at about $350 and back on the road. Amazingly the bumper was untouched!
To me that looks like a pretty easy fix- if you have a decent junkyard nearby.
Just for fun, the last shot is when a Hundai runs a stop sign right into me in the old 245. Didnt fix this one! Dave

I had a simillar crash total my '90 740. Insurance gave me $1750 for it. I paid $40 to keep the car, and $80 for used parts. The hood was damaged and I used a hammer to get the worst out, but it was still perfectly driveable once I put a new headlight on it. Best part, I had only paid $1200 for the car to start with!
Yeah my agreed value on the car is just over $9000. My car was $60,000 new (in 1995 US dollars, about $82,000)
To give you an idea of parts prices, a second hand hood is $500, bumper assembly is $450 and a new radiator comes in at a shade under $800, so you can see where the price builds up.
If the car is totalled, you cannot buy it back, the car goes on a written off register so you can never get insurance on it again.
Junk yard parts for these are very very hard to come by, most of them are snapped up by specialist Volvo junk yards so they can charge a premium price for them.

one smart dude. thats exactly what l did.
Brick- yikes! my used hood was $35 and the headlights were 25. Nice thing was that the hood was white so it was just a bolt on- no paint! Maybe you need to make a trip up here for parts! D
So the insurance company have decided to repair the car at a total quote cost of $6137.00 It goes in on the 12th March. Will post pics after I pic it up.
On another note, I totally forgot I had a dash cam in the car. Here is the video of the accident.

I'll be happy when they start to factory install them, fewer wires hanging and having to mess with the mount.
I bought one recently after a friend had a he said, she said accident. Without witnesses you're pretty much screwed if someone hits you and then blames you.
As for your video, ouch.
