Ok, I need advice here from all California modified Volvos.

I have My 18T, Angles flange and OBX downpipe. I am now looking for a catalytic converters that will pass California smog. I have my eye on this one:

Does anyone have experience with smogging in Ca with a modified exhaust?

You know that exhaust shops won't weld that on for you either? It's illegal for them to weld on aftermarket cats unless it's an OEM state approved cat. Just so you know. And it's not so much if the cat will past emissions, if they see an unapproved cat, they will fail you. I've read quite a bit about it.

Welding is not a problem. I own a mig, tig and arc.

Well then, there you go. I would just be worried about them seeing it.

I am not so worried about them seeing it as I am about it physically passing out the tail pipe. If it does not pass it will raise suspicion.

That's sick. I'm still trying to decide if I want to run an angled housing on my 19T or stay with the straight. I would have to buy the angled DP. Have you considered swapping on an R manifold when you do the 18T? I would. Flow is like 35% better from what I hear, and running a bigger turbo, you want to get that hot air out as fast as you can.

Well I decided to use the extra set of mud flaps I had for the front and give them a little face lift to fit on the rear.

Here is what they look like before and after

Man that wagon looks good. Are you about to lower it with those springs?

Also, is the T-5R front spoiler different than the '96 & '97 R spoiler?
