Default Service Reminder

1995 850 turbo.
Does the service reminder reset when you unhook the battery?
Like every other Volvo with a analog odometer the OD does not work, has not worked for well over a year and I have been using the trip OD in the info display paired with the maintenance reminder to tell me when the oil needs to be changed.
However I replaced the alternator a few weeks ago and of course that reset the trip OD and like a idiot I did not write down the miles and it reset to zero.
So my question is, does the maintenance reminder reset when you unhook the battery?
Or can I count on that to still light up when it reaches 5,000 miles?

No, you have to reset it with the OBD-I port near the ECU box behind the right headlight. There are instructions in the DIY Sticky.

Thank you guys.
I know how to reset it, I printed the instructions when we got the car and keep them in the glove box so when I change the oil I can reset the service reminder.
I just did not know0 about the battery being disconnected.
Thanks again guys.

Man, you can pull the bulb on the reminder. It's an idiot light.

I know it is, but the OD does not work so it helps me know when to change the oil.
