The 1993 has OBDI
You will have to use the OBDI port under the hood by the washer fluid fill.
Put the wire in the A7 port then press the button 4 times and wait for the light to light up then push once and wait for it to light up then 5 more times then wait for ti to light up then 1 more time then it should flash fast and then it should be reset
Again it is 4-1-5-1

On my 1994 Volvo 850, I reset the Service Light by pressing a button on my instrument panel, to the lower left of the speedometer. Make sure the instrument panel is active ("on"). Remove the rubber piece and press the button with a pen. From what I've heard, Volvo didn't make many 850's with this feature. But maybe yours is that way. If it is, than the Service Light can only be reset this way and not by the entering the code underneath the hood.
