Hi I have a Volvo 850 glt wagon, and the shift lock override button doesn't seem to work, it lets me shift out of park without the brake on. The button doesn't seem to do anything and there are no lights on (however there are a few lights on the dash burned out).

 

Its possible someone removed the solenoid.

There are no dash lights that work with the shift lock.

 

That sounds like a feature to me.
