I sometimes get fumes in the cabin when i start the car. Also, my remote control stopped working.I changed the battery already. Is there a fuse that i need to check?

 

You could have a small exhaust leak somewhere around the exhaust manifold. Once the car warms up, the expansion of the joints causes it to reseal.

As for the remote, do the power locks work if you lock and unlock with the key? If so, then more then likely, the remote needs to be reprogrammed to the car.
