Strange issue with the ignition switch
Today I noticed the ignition switch in my '97 850 N/A wagon became a little harder to make it to turn to "start" position. Also, when you release it, it doesn't spring back to the "ll" position, and you have to help it/push it back (counter-clockwise) with your hand, otherwise the car will not shift from park and some indicator lights will not go off in the dash. Any idea if just a bit of wd-40 in the key will help, or is there a whole new switch/ dealer trip in the horizon?
Thanks
Thanks
The electrical portion is acting up! WD-40 may work for the possible sticking tumblers in the cylinder. But the having to turn it back to get it towork properly is the electrical part of the switch it's like $60 for the part and maybe 30 mins to install for first time!
