stuck on Front brake job 94-855..help!
Doing front brake job on a 1994 855 Turbo
I got one side all done, easy as cake. I am putting back together the other side and like the first side I need to use some pliers to push the piston back into its home a little so I can fit the pads in the caliper enough to fit around the rotor. The problem is on this side that it wont go back in, even a little. I am a pretty strong guy and I cant get it to budge.Have a manual for the car and I looked at that but it suggests the same thing we've done. Push it back in with pliers is what is says.
Anyone have any ideas? Do I need to take the other side apart again? Seems like it could be a back and forth game if I do that.
Any help appreciated. THANKS

Make sure you have the cap off of the master cylinder resevoir, you want to remove some brake fluid so it doesn't overflow when you collapse the caliper. A pair of pump pliers big enough to grab the back of the caliper and the face of the piston at the same time works good. Try a little penetrating oil.
You can try pulling the piston out/ or just press the brake pedal to push the piston out of the caliper.
After removing the piston look inside the caliper for dirt/etc., cleanthe caliper and piston well, lubricate the seals inside the caliper and try pushing piston back in. If it works, you will have to bleed the system.
I did it once (pushed piston out) by mistake by pressing brake pedal...
