Tire Bubble!

Tire Bubble!
Okay well as the subject is said, I would like to know from your opinion. I ended up hitting a pot hole twice! same place not at the same time. I ended up pulling over on the road and saw a bubble. Since my t5r is FWD should I replace both front tires so that I just dont get 1 new and mess up tire life on all 4? I bought my tires from discount tire direct online since in VA there are no outlits. Any suggestions? I do have 4 certificates for free replacements.

Well I can say I know how you feel I have had to replace 3 tires already.
But if you the free replacement then maybe just get the one done for now.
Then I would put the 2 matching one up front and the new and old in the back for now.
Or you can by 2 new ones and then keep the other good one for a spare so next time it happens you will have the spare to put on.
A while ago when I had 2 tires with HUGE bubbles from the same pothole I found 4 Kuhmo's on e-bay from discount tire. I got them shipped to my door for less than $300.00. But they were 205/40/17's instead of the 205/45/17's they are supposed to be.
They are just a little more of a lower profile. But I really watch what bumps I hit now. By going down to that size I saved about $100.00 at the time and it worked great for me.

Must be the week for bad tires and potholes. I just had the belts break in a front tire. Boy, you should have felt the rough ride until I got it the last three miles home! And that was not going over 25 MPH!

Replace two tires! I suggest that you put the old ones on the front (switch Left Rear to Right Front and Vice versa) I have found that two tire replacements are the better way to go financially. Getting one replaced (unless there is like only a couple thousand miles on them) can lead to problems later on when you need new ones up front. The backs won't ridecorrectly on the front if the tread life is significantly different. I have also learned a little bit from NASCAR. There is more to tire wear and performance than just tread life. The number of heat cycles and TIME on the tire is also a factor.
Follow this scenario.
You replace the one bad tire and put it on the rear with the "Good" front tire. You move the rears to the front. Later on when your front tires have worn out you now need 2 new ones. The choice is to put "mismatched" tires on the front or the 2 new tires there. Leaving 2 outcomes.
1: The mismatched tires on the front pull or drive funny.
2: The rear tires are going to need replacement at different times (cost of 2 is not twice the cost of 1 it is usually cheaper per tire for 2) and in addition your rear tires will typically end up being twice as old with twice the heat, rotational and other wear being more prone to blow out or "bubble" at the most inopportune time.
Also, I would have an alignment done, a pot hole that caused a bad tire usually messes up something else.
