Default Turbo Gauge doesn't work after radiator replacement

So I initially posted here: https://volvoforums.com/m_82283/mpage_2/key_/tm.htm

With a link to video of my volvo leaking fluids, and I replaced my radiator myself. It took me most of the day, since it was my first time doing anything like this, and one of the bolt nuts came off the frame, and I had to go buy a dremel to grind it off. Everything seems to work fine, there is no fluid leaking. But the turbo dial doesn't change/show anything. If you accelerate hard, there is no indication from the turbo gauge. What a could be causing the turbo gauge to stop working?

o yea, and I broke one of the smaller hose/line clamps. It was all rusted out, and when I tried to pry it open with a screw driver to get the hose off, it broke. Where can I buy this? pepboys didn't have it, do I need to go to Volvo to get it? There are 4 lines that are about the same size, I think tranmission fluid going through some of them, I'm not sure. But all 4 lines have the same clamp thing.

I just went through the same thing with my transmission cooler lines. I broke one of those clamps. They are dealer or FCPGROTON item. Pricy too at $4.50 each. I took JPN's advice putting them on and used snap ring pliers to ease them open enough to slip over the fitting on the radiatior. Get it over the hose end first and then spread it open a little and slip it over the radiator fitting. They are brittle and I broke a new one trying to get it on but with snap ring pliers it was a breeze. Thanks JPN.

Good luck with it.

You're welcome Rob, glad to know it has benefited someone.

Use snap-ring pliers (you can find affordable ones at Sears Craftsman) and slide it onto the narrower section of the pipe/hose and then spread it just enough to put it on the hose-end. I also put regular screw-to-tighten clamp over it.

As to the boost gauge, there is one rubber hose attached directly on the back of the gauge. The hose may have come off, or the opposite end of the hose may have come off too...

Crazy as it sounds, try warming up the clamps in the oven before using them. Heat to about 150 degrees, and it seems to remove the brittleness.

It does make sense, as aluminum changes its property when heated. Just make sure to "serve" while hot.

Check the white plastic hose behind the drivers side headlight that feeds the boost guage.

ahh, great. It was the white plastic tube behind the drivers side headlight, it was disconnected. After I connected it, it worked fine. I bought the clamp at the Volvo dealership, it cost me $11.29 for one clamp. heh I tried to find it at autozone, pepboys, and roadside, they didn't have it. But the radiator change seems to be successful overall. I think there is an oil leak also. where are common oil leaks? and what are common solutions? Is there a thread on this somewhere?

Cheers,
Spioana

Get a flashlight/worklight and get under the car and find the leak.

There are infinite possibilities.

There is many places they will leak.
You might have to clean the engine good and then search from there.
