Turbo leak???
Hi, my 96 850 Turbo has a "turbo leak." I took the car to be looked at because my oil kept getting low after I drove too close to a curb and ripped the plastic underneath out, and was told that it is not the oil leaking, but the turbo. I wasn't told anything besides the fact that the turbo leaked, and to take the car some where else to be worked on. Currently don't have the cash to have it fixed and I need the car to cummute to school, but I have not been driving it in fear of making the problem worse. Is the car still driveable if I top the oil up?

Yes, if it starts and you can put it in gear and it moves forward, it's drivable. However, that usually back fires on people.
This kinda boils down to if you can afford to drive or not. If you can't fix it, you'll have to pay someone else to. I'd suggest you get under there and figure it out.

Is it the actual turbo leaking or the turbo drain pipe that is leaking?
The drain pipe is notorious for leaking, and is a cheap fix and you can do it yourself with a jack, 2 jack stands, 10mm wrench and socket... and of course the seal kit where you can get here ---> Turbo Drain Pipe Seal Kit.
You defiantly want to make sure what it is before you get anything done..
Where is the oil drips on the floor located?
Are you burning oil?
