will a turbo from either an eclipse(16g) or an evo 8 bolt on to an 850? I found some on craigslist and before i try to buy one i want to make sure either one would work on my car.

I believe these are the two 16g's that Mitsu makes...

TDO5H-16G-7CM2 505 CFM
TDO5H-16G-10CM2 505 CFM

With that said they are TD05 turbos. Our turbos are TD04H. I cannot say for sure that they wont fit, but my guess it that they wont fit with out modification. How much modification I am not sure on.

Honestly I would try to look for a 16T, which is what some of our Volvo's use.

If You want to bolt up and go:

TD04HL-15G - Smile
TD04HL-16T - Bigger smile
TD04HL-18T - Huge smile with a chuckle
TD04HL-19T - Laughter

What have you done to your car already? There's supporting mods you should do before tossing on a larger turbo.

300 bhp is enough even at 280 bhp it will be a flyer and getting power down in fwd is fun with standard power so with 50bhp or more it's a handful and more like having a big bike as feed the power in gently and then once moving can give it some stick.
forgot to mention that if you get over 350 bhp you will probably need to uprate the bottom end and change the rods as above that figure they can bend but it's the torque at low revs that bend the rods so big kick of torgue say 350 lbsft at 2500 revs could bend them as the t5 seems to develop as much torque as power unlike most other turbo cars and the bigger the turbo the high up the revs the spool up will be unless you have suitable mods to go with the turbo.
