Hey, im looking to buy an 850, anywhere from 92 to 96.
I had my heart set on a turbo but i cant find any in town, just a few GLE's
anyways could you tell me some positives and negatives for the turbo and GLE?
I've been told that Turbos need to be repaird more often than other 850s and are quite expensive to fix.

 

Keep looking until you find the Turbo. Much better acceleration and more fun to drive. I have 140,000 miles on my 1995 850 Turbo with no engine problems at all.

The turbo i'm looking at has 195000 KM, i dont know what that translates to miles. their asking $7995 for it, Air Conditioning, Alarm, Alloy Wheels, AM/FM Stereo, Bucket Seats, CD Player, Cruise Control, Dual Air Bag, Fog Lights, Heated Mirrors, Heated Seats, Keyless Entry, Leather Interior, Power Brakes, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Seat, Power Steering, Power Trunk, Power Windows, Rear Defroster, Sunroof, Tilt Steering, Tinted Glass

also how many miles to the galon would you get from a GLT?

 

That's about 120,000 miles which isn't bad. $7,995 sounds a little high, but you didn't say what year it is.

56 - MY97 850 GLT with DOHC 2.4L I5 with small turbo at 6 psi
57 - MY92-97 850 Turbo with DOHC 2.3L I5 with large turbo at 9.5 psi
58 - MY95-97 850 R with DOHC 2.3L I5 with large turbo at 9.5 psi plus

Pre-purchase check list...
Coolant system leakdown test will identify possible problem with head gasket
Engine compression test will identify possible problems with piston rings or head valves
Visual Inspection from Volvo Dealership ($130) will verify over-all condition of car
