Turbocharger interchange 15G->16T: what's needed?
Would replacing a TD04HL-15G CHRA with a -16T CHRA be a straight-out swap, or would other modifications, such as ECU exchange, be necessary? If so, how's that done? Thanks.

Bolt in.
There is a distinct possibility that the water and oil ports my be in different spots. A visual inspection should remove any doubt but physically, it will mount right in the existing turbo exhaust housing.

If it's a '94 or '95 you might need to change the flange on the end of the exhaust down tube off the turbo. The 94's and 5s used a conical fitting while the others used a straight or angled outlet.
You do not need to change the flange.
The Mitsubishi TD04 turbo housings are all the same on the turbo side. The exhaust housing outlet shapes can be different. You can leave your exhaust housing on the car and make the swap or take it out of the car, swap it then put it back in. Take notice when you remove the housing for a little pin that helps you keep the turbo clocked correctly.
If you have any specific questions PM me. Done this several times.
