Much needed update:
Reverse light plug

speed sensor plug

Transmission back off to put in pivot pin ball seat

Ball seat; this is what allows further travel of the shifter fork as Dongle's video explained

The intercooler that will be going on. Have to cut the tow hook off for the piping. If I go below the tow hook, the intercooler will be hanging below the front bumper.

My special tool I made when I tried to bleed the clutch by myself. lol

Engine basically put back together. The "awesome" blue intercooler piping is coming out since I have to wait a week for the heater core pass through to come, so I can install my FMIC in the time being.

And the part that ruined my day.

The pivot pin was available in the 1996+ M56Hs. It was not included in the pre 96s because without the ball seat the shifting was smoother supposedly. But they added it in 96 to allow for more fork travel. So pre 96 it is not factory, 96+ it is factory.
Here is a video that shows the motion of the shifter fork before and after the ball seat is added:

Oh, and it's all pretty much back together, that part that is broken in the bottom is the heater core firewall pass through. Have a new one on the way, so hopefully I can wrap this up this coming weekend.

Yeah, definitely check it out. Noticeable difference with and with out it.
Oh and Tech, opinion on that metal tube on the cam cover? Can I get rid of it?

Which metal tube on the cam cover?
Is it the one that is held in with 1 10MM bolt and goes to the back of the motor?
If so then really no. If you just remove it then exhaust gasses will leak out of the hole at all times.

Checked the Vid out and it I see a big difference. My throw out bearing is chattering already. I am so pissed but if I am taking it all apart I might as well put the R clutch in and install the clip.

Another question; Swapping ECUs, what do I all do? Just pull the old one and put in the new one? Battery's not even in the car so there's not power.
And, I no longer have EGR in this car, can I just remove the EGR module thing underneath the fan shroud?
Yes you can remove the pipe it is basically a cooling loop. Just remove it and put a hose to replace it.
Yes just swap the ECU's and remove the part on the fan schroud.
I think I am going to put the upsolute tune back in and when I do the PCV I will put the Non-EGR intake on and polish it.

OK, is it part of the PCV system or something? I have all of my vac lines in, including the PTC since I have the newer manifold with the nipple on the manifold, so I think I'm going to just remove it and cap off the port on the vac tree.
It's definitely nice not having that huge metal tube going back to the exhaust manifold.

Yeah, I compared the movement my self and it is definitely a lot better with the plastic ball in there.
Done. You know what, now that I think about it, I remember having one end of it hooked up to the vac tree, but I don't remember if I ever had the other end hooked up to anything. LOL. Major vac leak kinda.
Yep leak!
I might have a little leak as well I installed a BOV today and still have the CBV hooked up till tomorrow. I will try to install the blockoff plate tomorrow and adjust the BOV and be good.

Nice, I'm still undecided as to whether I want a BOV or keep the cbv when I put on the 19T. I don't really like the whoosh of a BOV, I think it's obnoxious. So if I got something I would get a recirculating BOV. We'll see. The 19T is still a little ways out. I have to get a wideband and Turbotuner before that goes on.
