Default Upper Torque Mount

Can anyone post a pic of the orientation of the bushing in the mount.

I am specifically look at the orientation of the ribs in the mount, vertical or horizontal. It was changed by the previous owner, however the ribs are positioned vertically and I figure if the ribs were positioned fore and aft mount would have less movement?

I am aware of the poly bushing replacement.

Any comments?

If you are replacing the mount with the stock rubber mount, the ribbing should be vertically positioned.

That mount pic looks torn.

I don't think it really matters. Once they get weak they start to tear and they need replaced. That is the most common mount but there are others that break down.

It isn't torn it is just dirty. Actually there is little arrow on the side of the ribbing that show what is up.
Not to mention that dirty engine bay.

Sorry, Gilber33, got to feed family (3 jobs). No time for cleaning.

I thought the arrow indicates up...it looks right to me. Based on what it does it is positioned correctly.

You know what PITA is to install it. I started it in vertical position but it angled itself during pushing process. Later I read somewhere that it last longer if its angeld... LOL...Good for me.....

got the oem bushing before reading the forum. it doesn't want to fit back in. i stuck the bushing in the freezer to shrink it a bit and will try to install when the motor mount is warm. any other suggestions on how to get the bushing back into the motor mount? i'm assuming using a lubricant isn't a good idea.
thanks

you really need a press to install the upper motor mount rod bushing when trying to replace with the oem part($7). for the aftermarket part ($28) you can install it by hand. This is according to the fcp groton company.

You could try applying some dish soap to the mount to help slide it in.
