Default Volvo 850

Ok, i know im kinda repetitive, but i couldnt find the older post...

If i buy the 850 T5 or the S70 t5...

I would need the

Chip
Downpipe
Exhaust

What else to make it faster? i mean getting like 300 or more HP out of the 850 T5

Slater at QuickBricks has the flanges to get you started on the downpipe.
http://www.quickbrickmotorsports.com/products.html

He also offers a tool to help you "degree" (fine-tune) your intake and exhaust cams.

Yes, ECU, downpipe, and free-flowing exhaust will get you over 300 HP at the engine (probably not at the wheels as on a Dyno)

Next Step is Wideband O2 sensor and gauge.

After you have Wideband O2 sensor, then you can experiment with...
S60-R exhaust manifold
different turbo configurations
ECU reprogramming and injectors
aftermarket intercooler
porting and polishing cylinder head
porting turbo exhaust housing
larger TB

Basically -- remove anything that constricts air flow during intake, combusion process, and exhaust.

- 3" downpipe, mandrel bent
- 2.5" mandrel bent catback with free flowing muffler like Magnaflow
- ECU upgrade (IPD, EST, RICA, Upsolute, SpeedTuning USA)

Before all this I suggest a STAGE0, find this on Volvospeed it is pinned in the performance forum over there.

Other things that will make your car faster. I know I am reposting what was said in the previous post, however.

- Upgraded turbo (bigger turbo 16T, 18T, 19T)
- Upgraded Intercooler (Custom FMIC or EST's intercooler)
- Slaters cam tool, but I don't suggest this unless you fully understand how to use it, and also fully understand on what it really does.
- S60R manifold from Viva Performance
- Porting and polishing and gasket matching your intake manifold and port and polishing matching and gasket matching the exhaust manifold as well.
- Port and polish your throttle body, or get VMS's big bore throttle body
- Bigger injectors

I suggest you do a stock dyno. Then do a dyno after each performance mod. Then send out for an ECU upgrade after your done modding and then have them tune your car to what your dyno sheets say and to what you have done to the car. Get A/F ratios too so they know what is going on with that as well.

Well I cant do the Dyno thing, I dont think we hgave one of those here. Ok So with the ECU upgrade, the downpipe, and the 2.5 mandrell would get me how much HP? 320 or so? With the ECU Upgrade...that would be like....275 Hp....then downpipe....and exhaust That would get me around how many Hp, an estimate?

For the STAGE0 thing, where can i get all of those? And is IT REALLY necessary?

Get your 3" mandrel bent downpipe and 2.5" mandrel bent catback exhaust first.

Followed by your ECU upgrade.

You have a 850 T5, I would suggest you really do STAGE 0 (Stage Zero) first. Again search for it in the PINNED threads on Volvospeed. It will help you gain back some lost HP you have most likely lost over the years.

I would bet you could get like 275Hp or so give or take. I doubt you will see 320HP. And the only way you will know how much HP you have gained or lost is by going to a dyno and having it dynoed.

Well the SAMCO turbo hoses can be had from, http://www.vivaperformance.com or you could get turbo hoses from http://www.stylinmotors.com

The rest of the items can probably be had from a dealership, or http://www.fcpgroton.com

If your car has 225, you might see about 255-260 Hp with just a ECU upgrade. With a 3" mandrel bent downpipe and 2.5" mandel bent catback system it might add like 10-25Hp.

Yes, consider Stage 0 mandatory. You want to have the car running like it's suppose to be running prior to any mods.

Besides FCPgroton, two other places that I like to get parts from are http://www.autohausaz.com and http://www.eeuroparts.com
