Thumbs down Volvo 850 Fuel pump

Hey guys! Really messed up here. Today I was replacing my fuel pump, when I was trying to disconnect one of the fuel lines the 90 degree plastic fuel line connector broke. What should I do?

I'd go to the junkyard and grab two 90 degree plastic connector.

Then, remove rest of the plastic in the hose and put in the new connector.

It seems to be all one plasic piece. When I talked to the dealership they gave me the part # 9186286. Im wondering if I could maybe glue this plastic piece back just to hold it off for a while?

No, I don't think that would be wise at all.

Go to junkyard and find a hose for $10.

Glue isn't going to hold, gasoline and 50psi = it will break in no time.

Okay guys planning on replacing the hose. But in order to do that I read that the gas tank needs to be dropped. Right now I still have about 15 gallons of gas which is about 100lbs+ of extra weight. So Im thinking if I could use clamps and a rubber tube just to hold it off. So that way I can drive around and drain the tank. Im just not to sure if the hoes and clamps are capable of holding 50lbs of pressure though.

You're way over thinking this.

Go to the junkyard, find a 850, disconnect the fuel hose at both the fuel filter and fuel pump, try to pull the fuel hose out at the fuel pump access, if you can't, lower the fuel tank a little until you can. Then do the reverse at home. Rent a car for $30 for the day if you need a ride or ask someone for one.

There is no need to drop the entire fuel tank to push a hose across the top of the tank.

Agreed, if you cant get it to slide over the top then put a jack under your tank with something like a 2x4 across to support it and drop the tank just a bit to get the line through. If I remember right its a pretty straight shot. If you decide to lower the tank some be sure to remove the filler spout ring.
