I was driving my volvo 850 today and all the gauges were working fine until i stopped to get gas and air and then i started it again and only the boost gauge worked os can someone help me and tell me what the problem could be?

 

There is a fuse for the gauge cluster in the fuse block but the power also routes through "Overload Relay #2". If it isn't the fuse, try the relay. If it isn't either than there may be damage internal to the instrument panel (there is an internal fuse and a couple of voltage regulators).

 

Do the instrument cluster lights work? If not, it might also be a loose connection behind the cluster.

 

yes the lights work on the instrument cluster, and i was driving it last night and the gauges kept jumping around and worked sometimes and didn't work sometimes and i dont know what the problem is?

 

If your car is a 94 - 95, you can check the cluster codes by putting the wire in A7 under the hood. Here is a list of all the codes.
