About a year ago I bought an 850 non turbo for a steal. Obvious problems of course but the car runs smoothe and gas is great. My biggest concern with the car is that it burns through oil. ..fast...2-4 quarts a month. I've already replaced the fire trap and I maintain the oil bi weekly. The oil burns and burns fast. I'm curious as to what I can do to stop this, cost is no issue if it means my oil is no longer a worry. It puffs a small amount of smoke after start up then stops. If it's running warm and I turn it off and take the oil cap off a fair amount of smoke seeps from the reservoir. Any ideas?

 

Are you sure it's not leaking out somewhere? Is there a film of oil on the back of the car?

Adding oil weekly is not telling us much, how much oil in 1,000 miles? If more than a quart in 1,000 miles, you likely have a warn motor.
