I had these custom made by mrzperformance.com, then I added the Light Tape behind the letters and tied them into the Courtesy lights, so when you open the door they light up. I acquired the Light from glowhut.com. Just go to the mrzperformance.com website and click on Contact us and send an e-mail to a Mr. Roy and let him know your a member of the Volvo Forums.

They run underneath and out and up to the courtesy lights. Underneath the rubber weather stripping.

 

I think he's referring to the unisghtly nature of the wire being exposed

I see this "Electroluminescent tape with lead wire and connector".... but it's in a 4.9 foot strip... can you "cut to length"?

 

As to the unslightly exposure..this pic was taken before I buried it..so, its really not that way.....also, The Light Tape your referring to can be cut, however, they also sell it in a kit form with 2 12 inch X 1.25 inch strips. You will need 2 A6 Inverters, one for each side..plus the kit. For more Info about the Light Tape contact mark@glowhut.com

 

So how is it attached to the door sill?

 

They have a 3M adhesive on the bottom side.
