Volvo SC-811 Radio Help
I bought a 1990 240 and it didn't have a radio, A friend of mine was parting an 850 so if anybody needs any parts let me know and he gave me the stock radio. I have it all working in the 240, I took all the black wires in the harness and put them on ground, all the red to switched, and all the yellow to unswitched. It works great but it drains my battery completely overnight, I went out to start my car this morning and it was dead.
Does anyone know which wires coming out of the SC-811's plug is switched, unswitched, and ground?
Thank You

Sorry man, I found this funny. Sure the common wire colors are black-ground, Yellow-12v and Red- switched. But, that is aftermarket color schemes. When it comes to stock, OEM applications there is no set color combinations. Manufactures use what they want for their cars and dont stick to aftermarket colors. Next time be careful and do some homework first. You got lucky you didnt burn it up. Best thing to do is go spend $10-15 bucks and buy an aftermarket wire harness that plugs onto the OEM volvo harness in the back of the radio. Use that to match up what wire goes where instead of guessing. I am still shaking my head, man you got lucky.
