Default Volvo Scanner

Anyone know where to find a OBD scanner for a car older than 94? All the ones that I can find are for 96 and newer, and the local Volvo dealership wants to charge 105 dollars to scan my car.

a scanner is not needed. it is done with the DTC in the front passanger side of the engine bay.

If it is OBD II, my brother and I use this

http://www.actron.com/product_category.php?id=249

This will check a CEL for you.

Which one do you use, because the ones that I looked at on there said for use with vehicles 1996 and up.

This one here is what we use on a 1995 vehicle

Maybe Volvo was just ahead of the curve on converting to OBD II.

Good point. I suppose they could have been. Because that one says for use with all 1996 models and up as well. Where do you plug it into?

On my 95 it is under the little coin holder behind the gear shift. The coin holder should just pull up if it is the same on the 94.

I'll have to check, I swear mine doesn't have a coin holder, but all of the pictures of 94 850's have them. I don't know, maybe I'm just so used to it I don't notice it.

Yeah, I got it figured out. I do have the little coin tray and I got the codes pulled at Auto Zone. I was just so used to my car that I think I forgot I had the coin tray there. Haha.
