Default Volvo Won't Start

Right off the bat I want to thank anyone who has posted any advice on this or any other Volvo related forums. I know lurking on these forums has saved me hundreds of dollars.

Anyway, outside of New Orleans at 75 mph my speed started to drop with the cruise control on so I hit the gas pedal, it sputtered and then cut out completely. I tried to restart it and it turned over no problem but wouldn't crank.

So its a 1995 850 turbo wagon with 175,xxx and I have put on over 1,000 miles in the last 7 days. I checked the oil at a tiny, two pump gas station (where I filled up. Bad gas?) in the Podunk, Mississippi it was at the bottom line but they didn't have synthetic so I pressed on for another 31 miles where it died. The mech can't see it until Tuesday and in the meantime I'm stranded a long way from home. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for being long winded

my guess would be,fuel pump relay, or bad fuel pump. you might want to check if you get any fuel at the fuel rail and if posible check for fuel pressure just to make sure you are getting the right fuel pressure.

Thanks
But how would I go about checking the pressure if I can't get the engine to start?

I live in South Mississippi, so I could come try and help if you're still in need.

What city are you located?

How To Check The Fuel Pressure On A Volvo - YouTube

Are you kidding me ?? Why not just get the right tester that just screws onto the end of the rail and doesn't make you unscrew that schrader valve core. It's so much simpler and eliminates the chance the hose comes loose and sets your car on fire.
