Water pump question
Hi all, doing a timing belt change again. I did the last one about 70,000 miles ago and changed the water pump at the same time. Fast forward to the current belt change job. The water pump spins quiet and smooth, no pulley wobble and it is not leaking anywhere. Sooo.......change it anyway, or leave it alone? I'm of the school of if it ain't broke don't fix it. Opinions and advice please......
I'm of the same school too, but you just have to decide whether you won't mind going back in there to replace water pump in 30,000 miles (for example). I've always replaced my pump when doing the timing belt. Get one from FCP and you won't have to pay for it again.
Things sure do last a long time on this car. I just replaced my starter at 240,xxx miles. It hadn't failed, but I didn't like the sound of it. About the only thing I've had to replace are the motor mounts; the new ones don't last very long, unfortunately.
