What new volvo's are as good as the old 850s?
I am looking to upgrade from my 850 to a newer volvo. The 850 still runs just leaks oil and tranny fluid and just possibly looking to upgrade. Question is are any newer volvos as good as the 850 series if so which ones? I'd like to stay with the brand and preferable a sedan. Anybody have any input? I do know that s80 arent the best until after 2002, at least someone said.
Yeah the old style C70 is essentially the same as a 99 and later S70 or V70.
If you get a convertible, hopefully you don't have top issues. Also, test drive it on the highway first. You'll notice the car kinda shimmys in the windshield area. It's normal, but just make sure it doesn't bother you before you buy one.

Saw the responses above, wondering if I can get more information. I currently have a 1997 850 but it has seen better days. It was taken care of for a long time, then my sister bought it and it had rough years. I bought it off her for a car to use, but it hasn't gotten much work since then. I was thinking it might be better just to get a newer better maintained Volvo.
I like the 850 a lot so I was wondering, like the guy above what the best newish Volvo is. I sadly will not have tons of money to spend and would like something that has less issues.
Mentioned above are S60, V70, S80 5-cylinder and more. Can I get more details on them?
