You can order one on line at FCP or Rockauto or walk into a NAPA, Oreilly, Autozone or ........ and ask for a hub assembly. Check out the difference in price and warranty and choose what you're comfortable with.

I have some work to do..... I've got the squeak when you hit the bump (strut), the vibration when you brake (rotors/pads/bearings?) So I think I will just attempt to change them all and see how she rolls!

I just replaced mine on a 1996 850r. I wanted to update this thread and mention that the hub carrier bolts are E14 NOT E16 (at least on the model I have). I ended up just grabbing an E16 and just going at it without paying attention, and stripped one of the bolts. Dont be an idiot like me

Default 'Mini stud'

Hi. I just got my first Volvo and this is my first post to the forum.
The OP mentioned and showed a photo of the "mini stud" being removed. Can anyone tell me the function of that part please? I have a set of wheels which would fit, if only that stud wasn't there!

Thanks a lot, take care
- Tony-

its just an alignment pin to help set up the rotor and wheel during assembly. It just screws out (10mm). I've always removed when doing new rotors.

Sorry to be dense, I just don't want to screw anything up... are you saying I can safely discard them then?
Thanks so much for responding by the way 😀

Ah. That's my problem, that stud prevents me from using the wheels I have, which would otherwise fit perfectly

It's just an aid. You can remove it and mount your wheels if everything else lines up (make sure they're the right size, including the lug hole depth. You need a certain about of thread engaged for these heavy cars).
