Default Where does this hose go?

So I was taking off the ABS control module on my 1996 850 non-turbo wagon and as I was finishing up, noticed a piece of thin, hard, black plastic vacuum hose about a foot long that was unattached to anything. It looks like it broke off the top of the air filter box. I'm betting it was the upper hose of the two that come off the part of the box facing toward the back of the car. Does anybody know where this connects on the other end? Despite some serious poking around, nothing jumped out at me.

Default here's a picture

The hose, which you see on top of the air filter box, fits onto the connector above the white hose that leads into the box.

I believe that loops around the intake box to the valve mixing the warm and cold air intakes and the white one should go to the vacuum tree.

I do not have access to the car at the moment. If anyone can confirm this before Sunday, great, otherwise I will confirm then.

Yeah need a new elbow and it attaches to the empty port on the thermo valve. It mixes warm air from the manifold "muff" to the cold air from the front of the car. Not an issue as far as the temp of the air but the vacuum leak WILL BE and issue.

IBIFIED, TURBOS do not have them because the air going to the intake is PLENTY warm after going thru the TURBO.

Default Thanks, but another question

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm feeling a bit moronic, however, since I'm still not seeing where this hose goes. When you mention the thermo valve, do you mean what the Haynes manual calls the intake air pre-heating system (section 4-4, for what that's worth)? If so, to find the port for this hose should I remove the air cleaner assembly and look around on the bottom, somewhere near the housing for the wax capsule? I've been feeling around in there and poking around with a mirror, but haven't had a eureka moment yet. Thanks in advance for your patience with this.

That port is right there in the center of your picture. Now I do not have an N/A car in front of me but one of the two hoses goes from that valve to the vacuum tree (by the throttle body) the other goes down under the box to the flapper valve that is there.

Just need to trace the "white hose" in the picture and see where it goes, the black one will then go to the other location
