Default Why is my mechanic suggesting my car has no PCV system?

My mechanic claims the car only has an EGR system and no PCV system. This is not true right? My parents took the car in considering I am in a different city so I didn't have a chance to talk to him myself.

Its probably one of those guys who figure since they cant see it, it must not be there. What kind of cars does the shop usually work on?

Hope he don't try and sell you summer air for the tires.

Seriously, Just because there is no actual valve, does not mean that a PCV system does not exist.

Dan is probably closest to being right. We know the mechanic well and he cuts us deals ALL the time. He specializes in American made cars but agrees to check the Volvo for certain problems. I was just making sure.

~thanks guys

I would never take a Volvo in to a mechanic like that. He will have no idea about what kind of expensive repairs (rear main seal) you can end up with if the PCV system is not serviced in time.
