I have a 96 volvo 850 T5 I just bought this boat my dad pulled it home for me but will my car tow it? it's a 17ft alum bass boat with a 40hp merc
its 680lb

I would say sure, you won't even know it's back there...
U-Haul or other places will sell you bolt-on hitches.
From the owner's manual:
Max. trailer weight
(w/o brakes) 1100 lbs (500 kg) 500 kg
(with brakes)
2" ball 3300 lbs (1500 kg) 1500 kg
1 7/8" ball 2000 lbs (908 kg) 900 kg
