What exactly is economy and sport mode in the 850?

 

Different shift/kickdown points.

 

Hmm, can you explain yourself better please? and which one is better, is sport for when im in a hurry? and econ for when im driving normally? please explain yourself

 

Sport mode is for when you want it to feel sporty and runs at higher rpm's when shifting. That's what you use to kick butt. Econ shifts at lower rpm's thus giving better gas mileage. That's what my wife uses. Actually I drive in econ most of the time, but push the button to sport any time I feel like messing with somebody or somebody is messing with me. If I ever feel like having fun and running it kind of hard, it's in sport mode. It really makes a difference in how the car feels, especially in the high pressure turbo models.

 

what exactly does winter mode do?

 

Winter mode starts off in 3rd gear for traction.

 

are those on the R models only?

 

No all 850's S70's 960's and newer have it.
