1995 850 Turbo

At work, I cranked (no problem) the car and went to another school approximately 1/2 mile away. Turned off the engine went inside and came out after approximately 30 minutes. Car would not turn over. Lights, etc. worked fine. Horn was loud. While I was inside, a heavy rain came and splashed water from the roof on top of my vehicle. Engine is dry (on top). Battery cable connections were clean (I scraped again just in case). No luck. Ideas? Did it get wet underneath with water splashing up from the concrete? It was not standing in water?

Any tips on what to look for?

does the starting motor click or make a sound at all?

could be:
starting motor
solenoid/relay for starting motor
PNP switch on tranny
other electrical issue

No sound at all. It must be the solenoid?

 

it could be the PNP switch, that waould lock out the solenoid from energizing

is should be easy to test the solenoid once you have access to it.

 

I believe it is the PNP switch. It is at the dealer as I write. Will keep you posted.
