Yellow t-5r rarity by numbers
That car was clean all the way around. I think the owner is keeping it 100% stock. I'd be willing to bet the inside is just as nice.
I was in a friends car but if I run into him again I am going to pull him over.

I seen one go for $1,500 last year with a bad motor. I would have paid more.
I seen one with 198,000 on it with a dirty car fax go for $8,200. The guy started at $6,500, and they lost me when it went over $7,500.
I would think that someone could get as much as $12,000 for one with the right conditions.

I have one. 90K original miles, purchased from the first owner (a very knowledgable and nice lady in her 60's who had owned multiple Volvo's including several RWD Turbo cars before her T5-R) , complete documentation including several dealer brochures, COMPLETE maintenance records from day 1, all original paperwork including bill of sale/window sticker/owners manuals (minus the suede w yellow stripe binder--never given to her--I'm looking for one if you happen to find one !) and even the original personal bank check she wrote to purchase it from the dealer back in 1996. The care is bone stock/original and complete down to the mats with mint yellow 850 stitching (she kept them covered with OEM Volvo rubber/plastic mats). Most of the factory grease pencil/paint pencil marks can still be found under the hood/chassis. The only blemishes are some checking in the paint on the rear spoiler (common) and minor scuffing on the front lip spoiler. Factory paint is otherwise very near perfect. The car is sitting in my garage (as it did in hers)--I don't drive it , it has a minor oil leak from somewhere (as per 850 usual--haven't had time to track it down) and I'm deciding whether or not to convert it to a manual trans. It's a beautiful car and runs drives perfectly--shame I don't curently have the time to drive/mess with it-too many other Volvo projects on the go right now !

Well are you the one owner of the yellow? Has it been garaged its whole life, Is it completely stock no mods?
KBB says its worth right under 5 grand, but the rarity of these cars makes them worth 1 or 2 grand more then kbb in my opinion, and in most cases when it comes to the T-5R's the owner will sit and wait till they get what they want for it. Its not like you can go around the block and get another yellow t-5r.
I paid 4500 for my yellow at 91k miles, mine does have a salvage title, that scares most people when it comes to cars and therefor usually brings the value down, but doesn't bother me because I will never sell either one of my T-5R's. I am the fourth owner of my yellow and the youngest, all the rest were adult owner's over 40.

So it really all depends on the condition and other variables, but from the pictures I would say you have a pretty good collection of volvo's and some very nice examples at that. I wish I had a garage for my yellow.

I might sell my yellow sedan. I rarely drive it. It has 170K and feels better than my 855R. It accelerates faster too. The PO was a woman and she took care of it well. I am debating on whether or not to sell it.
Did you get it up here by me on Long Island? Did it need a gas pump?

Hi Brian,
I posted a pic of each in the initial posting and have placed ads for both the T-5R and R on CL locally--liks to the ads below. Thanks for your previous email by-the-way. You have a very clean-looking 5-R there yourself !

Would you have any interest in selling the Window sticker?
I need on for my T-5R collection..
In interests of keeping the car "whole" and it's history complete I would have to decline selling it's window sticker. I know , as a buyer, I would want that documentation.
been up for sale for about two weeks now, black T-5R

I know Brentwood is in Long Island but by any chance you wouldn't have been going northbound on I-684 Brewster yesterday around 8pm?
