Default Bent valves

So at idle my alternator belt shredded, pieces got sucked into the timing belt, skipped timing. Bent valves. Dealership wants $7,000 for new head. Trusted certified volvo mechanic(owns euro mechanic shop) says he can do it for 2-3 grand. Do I have any other options? Buy rebuilt head? Buy used engine with warranty? Pay shop to rebuild head? 2008 C30 t5 2.5L 6 speed 2.0 version 108,000 miles.

I would think the trusted mechanic is planning to rebuild the head or have it rebuilt.

Reasonable enough at $2000. It's a pretty involved repair. I was thinking a rebuilt head is probably $1000, but I didn't price one.

We've bought a few with messed up timing belts. Have the machine shop disassemble the head, check for any valve guide damage (rare) and get new valves for the ones that are bent. It is the most cost-effective method that we've found.

Besides, you know that the head is right since it was just gone through.

Any of these, besides the "dealership", crazy as ever. If your engine was good before, I'd just have the head fixed, no big deal. Shouldn't cost more than $2k...
