C30 2.0 (2009) starts, runs for 2 seconds then stops
Hi,
My Volvo C30 2.0, auto, 2009, 80k kms.
I never had problems up to now. Today, I had a drive around 30 kms, parked it for 6 hours, then when I try to start again, engine started without any problem, it stays in the idle around 1-2 seconds, then stoped. It feels that there no fuel been pumped. During this 2 seconds interval, the gas pedal is useless - even I press on it, the rev is not going up. No warning lights on the dashboard. I tried 5 times, all the same. I have locked the car and unlocked a couple of times, it did not help as well.
Any ideas what to check?
Thanks.

We found that the problem is the fuel pump. It seems the 2.0 litres (Mazda engine that comes from Ford partnership) do not have a fuel pressure sensor and I have told that all unit needs to replaced. Still investigating.
it was certainly the fuel pump, not the whole unit, juts the pump inside the unit. it was replaced with a ford spare part as these engines were provided by Ford. Pump cost around 150 USD (i am quite sure prices a bit higher here at New Zealand) and 4 hours of labour.
