Default Can't start "Please turn wheel try again"

Hi everyone

This morning I was not able to start my C30. The display shows "Please turn wheel try again". The steering is not locked. Every time I move the wheel, just a tiny bit, I hear 3 clicking noises. The noises origin appears from the steering column/wheel. I can turn the key to full ignition but the car will not start. Everything else in the car works. I can only hear what I presume is the fuel pump whenever I try ignition.

I have been searching the internet for people with similar problems and I have found a couple of cases that almost matches what I am experiencing. There just wasn't any real solution. Therefore I am trying here as a last resort.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? If so what was your solution?

My last resort of course is to have the car towed to a Volvo auto shop.

Thanks

You have not stated whether the engine is capable of cranking over or not?
If not, it might be the PNP switch on the transmission.
Paddling the gear shifter a number of times up and down between Park to 1st and back sometimes cleans the contacts allowing the engine to then turn over on the starter as normal.

That is steering lock failure. It is part of immo.
Needs to be replaced at a dealer.
