I have a 2000 C70 Coupe and the driver's side seat belt has somehow become twisted in between where it exists the plastic interior cover and the pivot that is bolted to the car's pillar above the shoulder. In looking at the rest of the belt it appears that the "other side" of the twist must be inside the side plastic paneling. How do you remove that plastic paneling so that I can find the other side of the twist and untwist it? As of now the belt doesn't retract or extend easily because the twist gets caught up in the upper pivot point. Thanks in advance!

 

You may have to remove the seat to remove the belt from the rod along the bottom of the seat. Simple job. Look on the passenger side at the electrical switch panel. Pull the panel off the round cylinder at the front endge of the control panel. Pull almost straight up. The rear is screwed in. No need to unscrew it. There is a RED SIPS protector clipped there. IT MUST BE SLID OVER THE DRIVERS SIP ACTUATOR BEFORE YOU WORK ON THE SEAT!. Unhook the electrical connectors under the front of the seat. Remove the 4 bolts holding the seat to the floor, 14mm. Remove the round plastic cover for the bolt mounting the end of the seat belt rod cover. Remove the plastic cover, T5 Torx. Lift the front of the rear seat cushion so it is loose. Remove the 14mm bolt mounting the end of the rod to the side of the floor. Rotate the seat toward the passenger side. Remove the rod from the rod holder on the seat base, extra room is needed by lifting the rear seat cushion. Slide the seat belt off the rod. Untwist belt. Re-assemble. The plastic covers for the seat tracks just slide away from the seat tracks.
