My car has just developed a front passenger-side suspension squeak a couple of days ago and wondering where to start looking. Squeak happens at low speeds with small bumps in the road.

I've replaced the spring seats, strut bearings, sway bar endlinks 3 weeks back (and no squeaks at that time) and last week I had new tires put on (mounted and balanced), front brake rotors/pads replaced, tie rods replaced and an alignment. A few days after the tires/brakes/tie rods/alignment I developed a squeak. I had the tires/brakes/tie rods/alignment done at a place where auto-crossers drive for a couple of hours to get their cars done here, so I know it is a good shop and they will stand behind their work.

I'm thinking that perhaps the squeaking is coming from the springs not bing seated correctly. Thoughts?

 

Bounce on the front end and listen with the bonnet up test each side if you heart nothing check ya top engine torque mount ive just replaced mine it was like a frog under bonnet when i let off the clutch and over minor uneven roads .I also would check ya subframe bushes mine on the back were in a bad state suppose to be a problem with our models and others from 98 to 01

 

Good point. I just replaced my top engine torque mount too. If that is the issue, any way to quiet this down?

 

Do you have the older type the round bush with mount housing round at top or the new square bush ? I replaced mine a few weeks ago and its cured the noise but i also replaced the same mount about 8 months ago and after installing it i still had the sqeaking noise so i stuffed the housing with a hot glue gun it stopped the bush moving in the housing but i did experience vibrations by doin this

When I bounce up and down on the front end, I can hear it squeak, do you know what part it is then? Its driving me mental at the moment!

can you state if the squeak is at high level or dont ya quite know ? im thinking if ya top rubber shocker bush mounting has torn llok at ya shocker under ya bonnet and you will c if the shocker stem has pulled through alittle .Could also be ya tie bar links what go from ya strut to anti roll bar m8

Hi m8, you have to take ya shocker off and strip it down were abouts are you and il find ya the part m8

That is the 1 m8 but please note its possible to be ya anti roll bar link bars squeaks are difficult to pin point

also not a fix, but the squeak was driving me insane, i sprayed some wd40 on the top shock bushing and it quietened down entirely. will have to change the bushing when i have time.
