2002 C70
Hello all this is my first post here on the boards since i'm new. My wife has a 2002 C70 and this morning while driving it to work I encountered the following:
The temp gauge that normally runs in the half way mark, went down to the 1/4 mark on temp. Soon after that I lost a lot of heat coming from the heater vents. Once I turned off the heater, a few minutes later the temp guage went back up to the 1/2 way mark (that it normally runs at) and I got heat back. Any input/opinions on this would be great since i'm going to be taking it soon to get looked at.
thanks again.

These cars don't have a heater Valve in them.
The heater core is hot and active all the time. The controls only open and close the door allowing the heat to come out the vents.
So the heat actually had nothing to do with the temp. or the problem. It was just an affect of the problem.
I would inspect/replace the thermostat and take it from there.
If you really want to play it safe replace the temp sensor at the same time. It is really easy to get to with the thermostat out.

Yes it is pretty basic.
2 screws for the thermostat and the sensor is a screw as well.
But the screws for the thermostat are a T-45 I believe(Sorry but I know the socket by look)
