Default 2004 C70 driver window

So my mechanic said the part was over 500 and with labor it' over 900. Can anyone suggest a hack, cheaper way, can I use the passenger parts on the driver door? Anything to help me not spend so much. It only has 114k miles.. ugggg..

thanks in advance,
Mark

Hey Skifreak. Yeah, we have the same side borked on our '04 C70. I can fiddle with it a while and get the drivers window up eventually, but its a bit of a pain. Love the car except for all the maintenance parts I hate, lol.

Hope your ebay part works out. do tell. Was it the regulator or motor or whole combo assembly?

My 2004 convertible had the window regulator fail on the passenger side. I purchased an entire assembly from ebay and asked my local specialist to install it. He said the original regulator was a bitch to remove and the replacement regulator was not an exact fit. The window now doesn't seal properly and whistles at speeds above 100 km/h.

Does anyone know if the window can be adjusted properly? If so, any suggestions on how to make the adjustment? The whistling is driving me crazy.

It seems that the motor on my original assembly failed. Perhaps swapping motors and reinstalling the original regulator would be best?

Suggestions welcome....
