My 2008 C70 driver side door has opened 8 separate times over the last 3 month period, while driving with the top and windows down, at highway speed, over modestly bumpy surfaces. Each occurence, the safety catch stopped the door from swinging open entirely, but the door is lodged ajar and the interior lights illuminate. The car has been back to the dealer 2 X now, and they have done absolutely nothing to remedy this. No codes are reported from the cars electronics. I'm not driving excessively fast, nor are the roads excessively bumpy. Visual inspection reveals nothing amiss in door panels, hinges, etc. Anyone have any experience with this type of situation? It's rather alarming to say the least. I've owned the car since day one and know its history - no structural damage, accidents, nothing. Any help appreciated.

 

yes i have seen that.... i ended having to replace the door lock assembly on the door that was causing it. Once i did that the guy reported back a month later that it never did it again. strange but probably just a defect in the manufacturing. Hope this helps
