2004 with 51000 miles suddenly started making this very loud tapping from the valvetrain (sounds like a diesel). Saw a tsb on the evt solenoid/valve so i cleaned and thouroughly inspected it it works great but noticed some fine metal particles in the oil still left in the valve. The cams look excellent. Pull the oil cap off and the noise is definately coming from in there. Use the stethescope and the sound is generally all over cant pick a cylinder that souds worse than the other. It has great oil pressure and I can see oil circulating when i look in the oil fill cap through the slots. This has me a little stumped any help or ideas would be appreciated.
One thing that is probably unrelated is the alternator had to be replaced because it was not charging.
