I have a 2007 C70 and a really annoying rattle from the rear of the car when the roof is up at low speeds over bumpy roads. It sounds like a loose guitar string being plucked (not really high pitched) and I suspect the roof mechanism but cant find anything obvious. The garage has replaced 2 suspension struts thinking this was the cure but to no avail.

Any one have this problem?

 

I too have a rattle on my 2007, but I just chalked it up the retractable hard top normal sounds. Maybe not

 

No its not normal. Its really #$%@## annoying.

 

The manual states "replace rubber bumpers" on the convertible hardtop every 15,000 miles. I wonder if this may be an issue

 

Well last week my father took it to a garage and they replaced the rear shocks at great expense and the noise has 90% disappeared. I'm wondering if this really was the cause or its going to creep back in a few miles. Fingers crossed.

 

So, is the noise back? Or did changing out the shocks take care of it?

so far so good. I would say 90% its gone but because Im always listening now I can here a faint rattle but nothing like it used to be. Probably your shocks need doing anyway.
